THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR PEOPLE WHO OWN FORD FIESTA VEHICLES
We are seeing an increase in thefts of FORD FIESTA vehicles, including ST LINE models in and around the Blackburn Town Centre area.
We urge you to read the following advice below:
Buy a signal-blocking pouch, this can block the transmission of the signal from the car key. You can buy these online
Using a steering lock can be an effective way of ensuring that your vehicle is not stolen. It can be a useful deterrent
If you have a garage, I would strongly recommend you use it to secure your vehicle or park in the driveway if you have one
When leaving you vehicle unattended, park in well lit areas away from public view if possible
Ensure your vehicle is locked and secure and all valuables removed when not in use
REMEMBER - Please be vigilant, we are seeing them stolen off the street, from supermarket car parks and driveways both in rural locations and urban areas – be aware the thieves are targeting your vehicle so be alert to any one following you home. Do all you can to make the car thieves lives as hard as possible.
Please report any thefts, vehicle crimes or suspicious activity to police URGENTLY on 999 in an emergency of 101 for non urgent so we can investigate as soon as possible.
